Your journey will begin in Reykjavík, where you will be picked up by bus and head west to the Snæfellsness Peninsula. You will then head through the Hvalfjarðargöng Underwater Tunnel, a 5.7km-long tunnel which descends 165m below sea level, thus beginning your journey to the centre of the earth.
You will emerge at the other side, seeing Kirkjufell Mountain (known as Arrowhead Mountain in Game of Thrones), and the nearby Svöðufoss Waterfall, a true Icelandic hidden gem.
After passing Ingjaldshólskirkja Church, you will then be treated to the full journey to the centre of the earth experience, as you descend into Vatnshellnir Cave, an 8,000-year-old lava cave. Finally, you will visit the Lóndrangar basalt stacks and pass by Arnastapi Village before returning to Reykjavík to wrap up a full day of adventuring.
This adventure is a fantastic way to see the natural beauty of southwestern Iceland, and one that enables you to take numerous photographs at any given opportunity.
